Jerry Matthews Rules Himself out for Platinum Title Scramble

Taken from the PCW Forum Website

As the Twitter sphere caught fire over just who should be named the first challenger to newly crowned Platinum Champion Jay Thunder's title belt, any number of names have been thrown out. From Brian Stryker to Yoshiru Long to even the now former champ Ryan "The Reaper" Robinson, it seems that nearly the whole roster is salivating at such a chance. That is, except one notable PCW superstar.

While Monica Garcia was able to catch the Reverend Jerry Matthews via phone from Birmingham First Baptist Church, he was hardly thrilled when she speculated that he might be one of the names put forward to challenge for the Platinum Championship. He had this to say....

Jerry Matthews: Naturally, I expected this. After all, for all I did to restore glory to that championship, why wouldn't I be considered. And while I hardly approve of Jay Thunder's tactics to win the title from The Reaper, nevertheless, a smile still came to my face when I heard his reign had come to such an abrupt close. My record title reign is one that will never be surpassed, and as a result, while the rest of the roster scramble for a chance to challenge Jay Thunder, I have far bigger fish to fry, namely the Elite.

"For too long, Curtis Wilkes and Yoshiru Long have made PCW their own personal playground. It's time that someone puts a stop to it, and humbles them dearly. And, with the Deacon by my side, I feel great about my chances. Not just to put down the Elite once and for all, but to also claim my rightful destiny as PCW World Heavyweight Champion. The Word of the Lord, Thanks Be to God."
