The rumor mill has been churning over the past few hours, as word has
spread that PCW's longest reigning Platinum Champion, the Reverend Jerry
Matthews, has sent PCW General Manager Morgan Simmons a letter
containing an open contract demanding a match against Nightrain at
Wrestle Extravaganza IV: Summertime Smash.
The holy man has been
plagued by the hardcore behemoth's taunts in recent weeks, and Matthews'
spokesman Deacon Jeremiah issued the following statement:
"The
fact that Nightrain continues to dodge the good Reverend signifies that
he has finally seen the writing on the wall, and come to the realization
that he will be the next heathen to fall at the hands of "The
Evangelist." In an effort to finally get him in the ring, Jerry Matthews
has given me the authority to say that he will acquiesce to Nightrain's
foolish demands and childish negotiating by allowing Nightrain to pick
whatever stipulation he can dream up."
Seemingly, the Southern
Baptist is willing to bury the principles of his crusade to make a point
to the PCW faithful. But, is he biting off more than he can chew?
